Karen BakerKaren's journey into the healing arts began with psychology and holistic health at SF State University. After graduating she moved to Hawaii to attend the American Institute of Massage Therapy for a 600 hour training program and fell in love with both the native Hawaiian culture and bodywork. She followed her certification with private training in Lomi Lomi and Ho'oponopono, both of which are deeply present in her approach. Her work is informed by personal experience with structural injuries and life-long asthma, as well as years practicing yoga and meditation.
Integrative Massage Therapy combines Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Cranial Sacral, Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology, Sports Massage and Pressure Point Therapies to create a session tailored to individual needs. Rosen Method Bodywork

“Our work addresses the holding back that we do, where we do not show ourselves, where we hold back feelings, where we hold back actions. Through listening to the truth of the body, it is possible to discover what we can do, who we can be, what we can experience, how we can love.”
~Marion Rosen, Founder, Rosen Method Bodywork

Rosen Method bodywork is a gentle form of bodywork that listens to the body’s truth rather than manipulating its tissues. It’s unique approach to healing works directly with both the body and mind simultaneously; combining gentle touch with open unstructured dialogue, allowing access between the conscious and unconscious realms of being.

The full function of this somatic therapy is to remove barriers, in the body and psyche, that prohibit us from a full range of motion and emotion; allowing for a fuller embodiment of authentic self, and ultimately a more fulfilled life.

As a compliment to both psychotherapy and massage therapy, Rosen Method can allow the therapeutic process to deepen, carrying you further along the path you’re on.

Rosen Method Bodywork is for everyone! We all have repressed feelings at some point, forgotten some aspects of our true nature, and carry unnecessary muscle tension. It is of the few forms of therapy that combine touch with emotional processing, making it an ideal path for healing the wounds of physical and sexual trauma, as well as unexplained physical pain. It’s gentle approach makes it appropriate for any age or state of physical health, including pregnancy.

Breath Therapy combines trigger point and tissue work in the chest and abdomen with guided breathing exercises to increase breath capacity and decrease respiratory dysfunction. Recommended for those who suffer from asthma or other upper respiratory disorders, athletes, recovered smokers, and overweight individuals. Beneficial for children & adults!
